Embassy Spokesperson’s Response to the threat reports of relevant intelligence agencies of Norway

2024-02-13 18:00

The Chinese Embassy in Norway has taken note of the annual threat assessment reports released by PST, NIS and NSM. The contents of these reports once again propagate the cliché of the "China threat theory," making unfounded allegations in a judgmental tone without providing any factual evidence, maliciously slandering and smearing China, and disrupting and hindering normal exchanges between the two countries. We express strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this.

China is committed to the path of peaceful development, and never threats other countries with force, never engages in military alliances, and never exports ideologies. We have always been a builder of world peace, a defender of international order, and a contributor to global development. China's development presents opportunities for all countries, including Norway. Regardless of how the international situation may change, China will always advocate for an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization through actions. China is keen to seek its own development while defending world peace and development, and promote global  peace and prosperity through its own development.

Based on Cold War mentality and ideological prejudices, spreading political lies to sow division and incite confrontation is the greatest threat to international cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. We urge relevant agencies and politicians to objectively and rationally view China, stop spreading anti-China sentiment, and do more to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Norway, and contribute to the stability, prosperity, and peace of the world.
