Ambassador Yi Xianliang meets with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg

On November 26, 2019, Chinese Ambassador to Norway Yi Xianliang met with the Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg. The two sides exchanged views on the development of China-Norway relationship.

Ambassador Yi conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang to Solberg, and briefed on the development of the bilateral relations. Yi said, China and Norway have extensive consensus on areas such as free trade, multilateralism and sustainable development. Cooperation between the two sides in fields including trade, maritime affairs, energy and digitization enjoys high complementarity and great potentials. Both countries should make efforts to further strengthen consensus, broaden common interests and deepen pragmatic cooperation.

Prime Minister Solberg asked Ambassador Yi to convey to President Xi and Premier Li her sincere greetings and congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Solberg welcomed Yi to assume his post in Norway and spoke highly of the outcomes of the bilateral cooperation. She stressed that, Norway attaches great importance to developing ties and promoting cooperation with China in all fields. The two countries are approaching the challenges the world faces and seeing the way forward in a similar way. Norway looks forward to enhancing mutual support and coordination with China in the future.
