The Chinese Embassy in Oslo and the local Chinese communities hosted a cultural performance in the Oslo Concert Hall on 11 September, 2009 to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 55^th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Norway. The splendid performance, which included singing and dancing, traditional Chinese opera and Chinese Kungfu by artists from both countries, were warmly applauded by the audience. The performance lasted two hours and concluded in the song "My Motherland". Besides the cultural performance, the Chinese Embassy also held a photo exhibition, which depicted great changes happened in the vast land of China, and the colorful life of the people during the past 60 years.

Mr. Gao Zifa, the Charge d' Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy, and Mrs. Elisabeth Walaas, the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs made speeches respectively before the performance. They spoke highly of the remarkable achievements China had made in various fields during the past 6 decades and fruitful progress in the past 55 years of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. H.E. Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, the Norwegian Prime Minister, and Mr. Fabian Stang, the Mayor of Oslo also sent their special congratulations to this event.
