On March 30, 2023, Ambassador Hou Yue paid a courtesy call to both H.E. Jan Christian Vestre, Trade and Industry Minister and H.E. Bjørnar Selnes Skjæran, Fisheries and Ocean Policy Ministerof Norway.

Ambassador Hou said that China-Norway relations have maintained healthy and stable development, and the two countries share similar concepts in terms of green transformation , innovative development, and common prosperity. There is huge potential for cooperation of ocean, fishery and sustainable development. Norway is a highly developed export-oriented economy, and China has the advantage of a large market scale. It is in the fundamental interests of the two countries to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation on the basis of mutual respect.

Vestre and Skjæran warmly welcomed Ambassador Hou's assumption of office. They spoke highly of bilateral economic and trade cooperation and emphasized China's important position as Norway's largest trading partner in Asia. They look forward to closer cooperation with China on bilateral trade and investment, so as to strengthen exchanges and communication, and promote mutually beneficial development.
